No worries about the milage, must go a round way :-) What type of roads dis you go on? Were they A roads or little back roads? I get nervous on A roads at the moment so am a bit wary. I live in Kent so am hoping to do the Crystal Palace- Dover ride before we go, just so I know I can do it lol.
Well done on doing it :-) xx

Im also hoping to do Snowdon, but probably have to wait for a good day if we are gonna get any more summer lol
It does seem diffucult to train using steps as the steps round here are all same size and I believe that on the wall, they all vary? But maybe uphill will help to strengthen legs and knees, well that what I hope! maybe if you want to meet up one weekend if not busy fund-raising, we cud go up snowdon or another BIG mountain?
Hope to hear from you soon
Angie (was ishtar3762 but had to re-register)

I have struggled for the past four weeks to do any training due to two extremely hot holidays (a Nile cruise for my 50th was one!). I did try to do as much walking as possible, but the heat was up to 50 degs on some days. I did climb Helvellyn just over a month ago, which is a great one to do as it is a real uphill slog (some mountains can be quite gently - but this one starts from the minute you get to the base!!!) I am based in Preston, Lancs. and would love to do the Snowdon climb (have been up it several times years ago, but afraid I always cheated and used the train!). Because of my trips - one I only got back from yesterday, I can't make the London meeting, and as I am doing this on my own would love to meet up with anyone before the trip.

Because of fundraising, I too have only just looked at training schedules, kit lists, visas, etc. so realise I really have my work cut out. Walking isn't a problem as I can and do walk quite long distances - I just need to sort out a training programme for all those steps!!!

I have annual insurance with my bank, so need to check with them on Monday that I am covered for this trip.

Look forward to hearing from anyone

A 50th birthday Nile cruise, and a trip to Ibiza from which I returned last night with my 15 year old son (my 21 year old daughter is out there for 4 weeks). I now need to start training in earnest. I did walk to the top of Helvellyn a few weeks ago, but because of my jaunts abroad have not done as much as I should for the past few weeks. I have tried my best to walk for as long as possible each day (sometimes up to four hours)- but because of the heat in both places it's not been possible to do anything more strenuous.

Where are you based. I am doing the trip on my own, and am excited too. I can't make the meeting this weekend. I live in Preston, Lancs, and I too would love to hear from anyone else on the trip.

Can't believe it is only 9 weeks away!!

You'll enjoy it!
Sarah
