Hey!
Just wondered who is doing the Iceland trek this year? Know it's a long way off but it'd be nice to get to know some people before we have our meet up. I shall be coming on me own and i've never done anything like this before either so if anyone's got any advice that'd be brill!xx

Hiya, I've just registered to go! I've never done anything like this before, I'm old, fat and unfit.
However my wife had breast cancer earlier this year and I really want to do something to make a difference. Have you registered with just giving yet?

Hello i am also going to Iceland and like you guys have never done anything like this before so we can all be newbies together!
How is the fundraising going?... Im raising money for the Childrens Hospital Charity based in Sheffield, and I broke the £100 barrier yesterday... Ive only really just started by selling some stuff and I stood for four hours in the leisure centre yesterday and raised £39 (it was apparently a quiet day) Im trawling the supermarkets next and im hopefully arranging a Charioke night with a mate of mine. Hi guys!
So glad you've replied! Feel a bit less nervous already. I've been registered with JustGiving for a while now as I was going to do the trek last year but then couldn't raise the funds. I'm doing it this year for sure though!
They're good ways to raise money. I've also done a couple of sales. My fundraising's not goin too bad. Thought I might start offering a present wrapping service or something xmas related!lol! Your charities sound like amazing causes. I'm doing mine for Rethink which is a charity that helps people re-establish their independence after suffering from mental health problems. I also want to make a difference and help to break down stigma people face as a result of their mental health problems. We'll all have to keep in touch! Edited by Kirsty - 12 Dec 2009 at 10:48pm |

Hi all!
I've booked onto the Iceland trip, i'm doing it for The Cure Parkinsons Trust, sounds like some very much deserving charities :) I only booked last week and just got my link through to this website and i must say, i'm a little overwhelmed with all the information, and trying to find lots of fundraising ideas, it's a lot to raise! Anyway, can't wait to get to know you all over the coming months :D |
