Cuba Charity Bike Ride

From vibrant Havana to the relaxed, rural western province, to the dazzling beaches and clear blue seas of the Gulf of Mexico, the Cuba bike ride offers you an extraordinary experience that will not be forgotten.
This charity cycle, set in the beautiful location of Cuba will not only offer you an experience of a lifetime, it might even change your life! Meet new friends and raise funds for a cause close to your heart all while cycling across Cuba!
The following give you a brief taste of the Cuba charity challenge ahead but for more detailed information please do not hesitate to contact one of the Overseas Team on 020 7424 5511.
DAY 1:
We fly from London to Havana. Transfer to our hotel.
DAY 2: Havana
Explore the beautiful historical city of Havana, one of Earnest Hemmingway's favourite cities.
DAY 3: Havana Las Terrazas
Leaving the bustling capital and heading west along the coast for our first taste of this beautiful countryside.
DAY 4: Las Terrazas San Diego de Los Baos
A climb takes us out of the reserve and then continuing on out of the mountains down to the south west.
DAY 5: San Diego de Los Baos - Guabina
We have a tough day a head with spectacular views passing through farmland, small villages and town's en-route. Visit Che Guevara's cave.
DAY 6: Guabina Camp - Cuevo del Indio
We continue on reasonable roads to Cabeza and through wonderful pine forest to Pons.
DAY 7: Cuevo del Indio - Cayo Jutias - Vinales
Our final days ride and the coast is beckoning! We head west along the coast through bush, forest and tobacco plantations.
DAY 8: Free Day in Vinales
Today is free to explore the beautiful Vinales valley.
DAY 9: Vinales - Havana
Return to Havana for some last minute shopping, sight-seeing and an opportunity to soak up the capital's nightlife.
DAY 10: Havana London
Transfer to the airport in time to catch our international flight home.
DAY 11: Arrive London
There are a limited number of places available on our next Cuba bike ride for charity.

How fit do I need to be?
People from all walks of life will take part in this challenge and most people will be exactly like you. But it's vital that you train so that you get he most out of the cycle ride. We will send you a suggested training plan and are on hand to help you with your training tips
How much do I have to raise?
£2,850
Will I be able to raise the sponsorship level?
YES! Once you have started you will find that raising the minimum sponsorship is easy and most importantly fun! We will provide you with a breakdown of examples of how to raise the sponsorship money in an enjoyable way and we will of course be available every day to help you with more ideas! You are doing something quite simply amazing so make sure you tell everyone you know, and before you know it you will be racing towards your fundraising target!

Can I extend my trip?
Yes! For a nominal registration fee your flight can be extended (subject to availability). This will give you the opportunity to discover more of this amazing country independently
Will you help me?
YES! One of our highly experienced tour reps will be on hand to help you in the lead up to the event. You will be sent a full confirmation pack shortly after you register on the event which will give you all the information you need but we are always here to make the event as enjoyable and hassle free as possible! And there will even be the opportunity to meet your fellow participants at a special gathering before the event!
What is the food like?
The cocina criolla (Creole Kitchen) was developed under Spanish and African influence. The most common Cuban foods include pork, chicken, rice, beans, tomatoes and lettuce. The Spanish influence is apparent in the use of rice, lemons and oranges
What do I need to bring?
No specialist kit is required although you will need to bring your own cycle helmet and a gel saddle might be useful!
What will happen to my luggage during cycling days?
Your luggage will be carried separately in one of our support vehicles. You'll just need to bring a bum bag to carry those essentials like a camera and sun tan lotion
How many people can take part?
The average group size is about 40 people although this does vary considerably from trip to trip
What type of accommodation will I be staying in?
A mixture of camping and 2/3* hotels.
What's included in the cost?
All food (except 6 meals), internal travel, accommodation, water and refreshments on cycling days, mechanics, guides, a doctor and medical support
Is there an age restriction?
You will need to be over 18 but there is no upper age limit. If you are over 65 will just need to get a medical form signed by your doctor.
What about insurance?
You must have travel insurance cover in order to participate in this challenge. You can either arrange this yourself (as long as your insurance company is aware of the nature of what you are doing and that it is a charity event) or we can help you arrange this.
