For a country with the biggest population in the world China remains largely
untouched by the West and now is your opportunity to discover it's hidden
charms on our charity China trek...
It is a beautiful country steeped in tradition, history and mythology. For
those with a passion for culture and a sense of adventure the China trek leaves
an indelible mark on all who take part.
Join us on the charity trekking trip of a lifetime as we trek the Great Wall,
visit Beijing and get the chance to spend time in a rural village.
The following itinerary gives you a brief taste of the challenge ahead but for

Depart London for Beijing.
Arrival in Beijing. Welcome meeting followed by traditional Peking Duck meal.
Transfer to Huangyaguan where we commence our Trek on the Great Wall.
Huangyaguan to Mountain Village – today’s trek includes the steep 200 step
climb of Heavens Ladder!
Mountain Village to Jinshanling. Follow the contour of the hills along steep
We transfer out to Guebeiko to start our trek following the wall back to
Jinshanling, passing remnants dating back to Qing Dynasty.
Jinshanling to Mutianyu. A stunning walk along a largely restored section
of the wall with fantastic views across the hills.
Mutianyu to Beijing. We complete our trek on one of the most beautiful
sections of the wall before transferring back to Beijing to celebrate!
Today we take time to explore Beijing.
Beijing to London
China is one of the world's most fascinating countries - explore it with
Skyline Overseas and discover it in the best way possible - on foot, along the
most exciting and stunning parts of the Great Wall.

Is the trip for me?
Yes! People of all ages and from all walks of life take part in this fantastic
challenge and what everyone has in common is the desire to do something amazing
for a great cause! Some people come with friends or family but most people
won't know anyone else on the trip so it's a great opportunity to make new
How fit do I need to be?
Most people will be just like you, however if you want to get the very best out
of the trip it's imperative that you train. Once you have reserved your place
on the trip we will give you training hints and tips
How much do I have to raise?
Will I be able to raise the sponsorship level?
YES! Once you have started you will find that raising the minimum sponsorship
is easy and most importantly fun! We will provide you with a breakdown of
examples of how to raise the sponsorship money in an enjoyable way and we will
of course be available every day to help you with more ideas! You are doing
something quite simply amazing so make sure you tell everyone you know, and
before you know it you will be racing towards your fundraising target!
What deposit do I have to pay?
Can I extend my trip?
Yes! For a nominal registration fee your flight can be extended (subject to
availability). This will give you the opportunity to discover more of this
amazing country independently
Will you help me?
YES! One of our highly experienced tour reps will be on hand to help you in the
lead up to the event. You will be sent a full confirmation pack shortly after
you register on the event which will give you all the information you need but
we are always here to make the event as enjoyable and hassle free as possible!
And there will even be the opportunity to meet your fellow participants at a
special gathering before the event!
What is the food like?
We'll enjoy traditional Chinese cuisine. Vegetarian diets can be catered for
What do I need to bring?
No specialist kit is required although you will need a good pair of walking
boots. We will send you a full packing list when you register
What will happen to my luggage during trekking days?
Your luggage will be carried separately in one of the support vehicles. You'll
just need to carry those essentials like water, sun tan lotion and a camera!
How many people can take part?
The average group size is about 40 people although this does vary considerably
from trip to trip
What type of accommodation will I be staying in?
2-3* hotels where possible
What's included in the cost?
Flights and all internal travel, accommodation, all food (except 3 meals),
water, refreshments, guides, a doctor and medical support
Is there an age restriction?
You will need to be over 18 but there is no upper age limit. If you are over 65
will just need to get a medical form signed by your doctor.
What about insurance?
You must have travel insurance cover in order to participate in this challenge.
You can either arrange this yourself (as long as your insurance company is
aware of the nature of what you are doing and that it is a charity event) or we
can help you arrange this.

||Ranges from western style hotels to basic
hostels and farmers' houses: they are basic but clean and extremely friendly.
||Usually 21-27C at this time of year however
the temperature will get a lot cooler at night.
||Flights and all interval travel,
accommodation, all food (except 3 meals), water, refreshments, guides, a doctor
and medical support. Camping equipment is also provided.
|What's not included:
||Due to fluctuating fuel costs it may be necessary to pay an extra fuel surcharge. We will confirm this to you in writing as soon as the amount is confirmed. For this trip we estimate the cost to be £350.00
|Passport & Visas:
||A valid ten-year passport is essential for travel in China and must be valid for at least 6 months after entry into China. A visa is essential for all nationalities, costing approx £80. Skyline will send your instructions on how and when to apply for your visa approximately 3 months before the trip departs.
||We recommend you are vaccinated against Hepatitis A, Typhoid & Polio. You must have had a Tetanus injection in the last 10 years. You should always contact your GP or travel clinic for the latest travel health advice.
