Home to five per cent of the planet's biodiversity, with everything from palm tree-lined tropical beaches to smoking volcanoes, cloud forest and mangrove, our charity trek in Costa Rica will take us through coffee plantations and oak forests deep into the dense tropical rainforest. Serenaded by howler monkeys and exotic bird calls you'll experience everything Costa Rica has to offer before finishing on a beautiful tropical beach.

Day 1:
Arrival San Jose. Spend overnight in the capital city.
DAY 2:
Start trekking at Cerro Frio and head to San Gerardo through cloud forest.
DAY 3:
From San Gerardo to Angeles and the highest part of the trek.
DAY 4:
Trek from Angeles to Rio Nuevo heading through coffee plantations.
DAY 5:
Rio Nuevo to Cerro San Antonio.
DAY 6:
Start out from Cerro San Antonio and on to Magnolia towards Pacific coast passing tropical lagoons.
DAY 7:
Trekking from Magnolia to Tres Piedras through rain forest.
DAY 8:
Trek from Tres Piedras to Playa Baru, the end in sight.
DAY 9:
Free day at the beach - Dominical
DAY 10:
Drive to San Jose Departure

How fit do I need to be?
People from all walks of life will take part in this challenge and most people will be exactly like you. But it's vital that you train so that you get he most out of the trek. We will send you a suggested training plan and are on hand to help you with your training tips.
How much do I have to raise?
£2,950 (^tbc)
Will I be able to raise the sponsorship level?
YES! Once you have started you will find that raising the minimum sponsorship is easy and most importantly fun! We will provide you with a breakdown of examples of how to raise the sponsorship money in an enjoyable way and we will of course be available every day to help you with more ideas! You are doing something quite simply amazing so make sure you tell everyone you know, and before you know it you will be racing towards your fundraising target!

Can I extend my trip?
Yes! For a nominal administration fee your flight can be extended (subject to availability). This will give you the opportunity to discover more of this amazing country independently.
Will you help me?
YES! One of our highly experienced tour reps will be on hand to help you in the lead up to the event. You will be sent a full confirmation pack shortly after you register on the event which will give you all the information you need but we are always here to make the event as enjoyable and hassle free as possible! And there will even be the opportunity to meet your fellow participants at a special gathering before the event!
What is the food like?
You'll enjoy tasty local dishes such as rice, chicken & pork plus lots of coffee! Vegetarian diets can be catered for.
What do I need to bring?
No specialist kit is required though you will need to bring a sleeping bag and of course your own comfortable walking boots. We'll send you a full packing list when you register
What will happen to my luggage during trekking days?
Your bags will be carried either in one of the vehicles or by horses. Youll just need to carry a daypack which will have all your essentials for the day!
How many people can take part?
The average group size is about 40 people although this does vary considerably from trip to trip
What type of accommodation will I be staying in?
Hotels either side of the trek, and tents during the trek.
What's included in the cost?
Flights and all internal travel, accommodation, all meals on trekking days, water, refreshments, guides, a doctor and medical support
Is there an age restriction?
You will need to be over 18 but there is no upper age limit. If you are over 65 will just need to get a medical form signed by your doctor.
What about insurance?
You must have travel insurance cover in order to participate in this challenge. You can either arrange this yourself (as long as your insurance company is aware of the nature of what you are doing and that it is a charity event) or we can help you arrange this.
