From Reykjavik to the volcanic lava fields, Iceland is a truly extraordinary
place and this is your chance to discover it.
See some of the most spectacular wilderness areas in Europe on our charity trek
in Iceland. Not only will you be experiencing a trip of a lifetime, it might
even change your life! Meet new friends and raise funds for a cause close to
DAY 1:- London - Keflavik - Landmannalaugar
We depart London for Keflavik airport whereby upon arrival we will be transferred by bus to the Southern Highlands about 150 miles east of Reykjavik.
DAY 2:- Landmannalaugar - lftavatn
From camp we will climb up through the cross lava fields, pass steaming vents and snow fields. Near the highest point (3,600ft) we will pass Storihver a big hot spring amongst a field of vents.
DAY 3:- lftavatn - Emstrur
As we leave the rhyolite we enter a glacial area with fast running glacial streams off the Myrdalsjokull Icecap. We will experience river crossings, both by wooden bridges and wading through ice-cold streams!
DAY 4:- Emstrur - Thorsmrk - Reykjavik
Our final days trekking starts with more river crossings, views of the amazing Markarfljt gorge and the bridged Ljorsa fissure. The trek ends with a steep drop into the main valley of Thrsmrk.
DAY 5:- Reykjavik - London
Today there will be free time to explore Reykjavik and the Blue lagoon - one of Icelands pools of pure, mineral-rich, geothermal seawater, set amongst fields of lava against a spectacular backdrop of green rolling hills.

Is the trip for me?
YES! Most people embarking on this trip will have never done anything like this
before and will be just like you! Some people choose to bring friends or family
but most come alone and make a whole host of new friends along the way!
How fit do I need to be?
You don't need to be a fitness fanatic to do this event. The majority of people
who take part will be just like you and will not necessarily have done anything
like this before. However to get maximum enjoyment from this challenge training
is vital and we will provide you with a detailed training plan which we
strongly recommend you stick to. We will also be on hand every step of the way
to provide training advice.
How much do I have to raise?
Will I be able to raise the sponsorship level?
YES! Once you have started you will find that raising the minimum sponsorship
is easy and most importantly fun! We will provide you with a breakdown of
examples of how to raise the sponsorship money in an enjoyable way and we will
of course be available every day to help you with more ideas! You are doing
something quite simply amazing so make sure you tell everyone you know, and
before you know it you will be racing towards your fundraising target!
What deposit do I have to pay?
Can I extend my trip?
It is usually possible to extend your stay after the trip for a small
administration charge and subject to availability, giving you the opportunity
to explore some of this stunning country in your own time!
Will you help me?
YES! One of our highly experienced tour reps will be on hand to help you in the
lead up to the event. You will be sent a full confirmation pack shortly after
you register on the event which will give you all the information you need but
we are always here to make the event as enjoyable and hassle free as possible!
And there will even be the opportunity to meet your fellow participants at a
special gathering before the event!
What is the food like?
Most Icelandic meals you'll experience on the trip will start with a soup then
a fine hearty meal consisting of lots of meat and fish.
What do I need to bring?
You'll need to bring with you a sleeping bag and sleeping mat but apart from
that we will be providing everything. We'll send you a full packing list once
Will you carry my luggage whilst I'm walking?
YES! Vehicles will take the group to the start of the trek and meet us at the
end of each day. The vehicles carry all the luggage, food, water and camping
equipment. You'll just need to carry those essentials like water and a camera!
How many people can take part?
The average group size is about 40 people although this does vary considerably
from trip to trip.
What type of accommodation will I be staying in?
We will be camping whilst actually on the Trek and staying in hotels on our
first night and on the two days at the end of the Trek.
What's included in the cost?
Flights and all internal travel, accommodation, all meals (except celebration
meal on Day 4 and lunch on Day 5), water, refreshments, a doctor and medical support.
Is there an age restriction?
You will need to be over 18 but there is no upper age limit. If you are over 65
will just need to get a medical form signed by your doctor.
What about insurance?
You must have travel insurance cover in order to participate in this challenge.
You can either arrange this yourself (as long as your insurance company is
aware of the nature of what you are doing and that it is a charity event) or we
can help you arrange this.

||Due to flucuating fuel costs it may be necessary to pay an extra fuel surcharge. We will confirm this to you in writing as soon as the amount is confirmed. For this trip we estimate the cost to be £170.00
|Passport & Visas:
||A valid ten-year passport is essential and there is no visa requirement for UK citizens. Other nationalities should check visa entry requirements. Your passport must be valid for six months after the return date of the event.
||We insist that you have had a Tetanus injection in the last 10 years. You should always contact your GP or travel clinic for the latest travel health advice.
