Iceland is a land of incredible contrast and beauty. Its wild landscapes, mountains, glaciers, hot springs, geysers and waterfalls combined with its rich history, literature and folklore make it a fascinating country to explore.

People of all ages and from all walks of life take part in this enchanting trek, you will make friends for life and memories you treasure for a lifetime.

DAY 1:- London - Keflavik - Landmannalaugar
We depart London for Keflavik Airport where upon arrival we will be transferred by bus to the Southern Highlands about 150 miles east of Reykjavik. Our camp for the night is at Landmannalaugar in the heart of Southern Iceland’s thermal area.

DAY 2:- Landmannalaugar - Aftavatn
We wake up early and enjoy a hearty breakfast before the trekking begins! From camp we will climb up through the lava fields, passing steaming vents and snow fields. Near the highest point (3,600ft) we will pass Storihver, a big hot spring amongst a field of vents. After lunch we start our downhill descent to Alftavatn, a huge volcanic lake where we will camp tonight – a truly stunning setting. Trekking time approx. 9 hours.

DAY 3:- Aftavatn - Emstrur
As we leave the rhyolite we enter a glacial area with fast running glacial streams off the Myrdalsjokull Icecap. We will experience river crossings, both by wooden bridges and wading through ice-cold streams! We then climb down through the hills towards Emstrur Hut, our home for the night and last night under canvas! Trekking time approx 7 hours trekking.

DAY 4:- Emstrur - Thorsmork - Reykjavik
Our final day trekking starts with more river crossings with views of the amazing Markarfljt gorge and the bridged Ljorsa fissure. The trek ends with a steep drop into the main valley of Thórsmörk, which is surrounded by giant glaciers and raging rivers. After celebrations we transfer back to Reykjavik where celebrations continue over dinner with overnight stay at a hotel. Trekking time approx 7-8 hours.

DAY 5:- Reykjavik - London
Today there will be free time to explore Reykjavik and the option to enjoy Blue Lagoon, one of Icelands pools of pure, mineral-rich, geothermal seawater, set amongst fields of lava against a spectacular backdrop of green rolling hills. We then continue onto the airport for our flight home.

Due to the nature of the challenge, this complex itinerary is subject to change.
